There are many opportunities for
volunteers to be active in the organization to help
keep it operating and running smoothly including
donations and foster care.
Volunteer, Alina is Paws' Littlest Volunteer! She is the daughter of Dolores, Paws' Most Dedicated Volunteer. Alina provides pet therapy for the cats at the shelter. Alina is pictured here holding her favorite kitten, Tinkerbell aka "Tink". Tink allows Alina to carry her for hours without making a peep! Thanks Dolores and Alina for volunteering at Paws of Heart!
“Off Site Adoption Days”
Off site adoption days are held at some
local stores on weekends. Walmart, Giant Eagle,
Pets Supplies Plus and maybe by summer-Petsmart.
We need volunteers to assist with speaking with
the public at our table that we set up with our
cats and kittens. Volunteers can observe members
and learn the ways we screen our adopters, questions
we ask and answers we look for. We also get asked
a lot of questions about cat care, and about our
organization, you will learn all of this in training.
We set up from noon til 5 pm. So, anyone interested
in assisting at these stores, can meet me there
at 11:30 to help set up. Volunteering the afternoon
also relieves members to use restrooms and eat (much
appreciated).
This area requires approx. 4-5 hours. If you cannot be there
for the entire adoption afternoon, any time you can give
of yourself is much appreciated! Even one hour gives a break
for restrooms etc..

Volunteer, Bernie (3rd from right) helped with and found
Barney's adopter! Bernie volunteers up at the haven, cleans
and has a special way with socializing the cats, and has
contributed alot of things to the haven including a donator
of the loveseats we have in the lobby area. Bernie is a
true asset!
